The Peer Involvement Advisors (PIAs) at Missouri S&T support a robust community of student leaders and organizations committed to providing fun, engaging, and innovative experiences to students. Serving 200+ student organizations and hundreds of student leaders, our team empowers students to succeed in organizational leadership and student activities. PIAs provide administration, education, risk prevention, training, programming, and leadership development services to help student organizations, leaders, and advisors thrive while fostering a safe, exciting, and energizing student involvement experience that enhances the overall student journey at Missouri S&T.

Administration
PIAs offer multiple administrative services for student organizations and leaders. Our administrative services include:
- Oversight of MinerLink and associated groups and processes
- Management of group registration processes, including existing RSO re-registration and the New Student Organization (NSO) Recognition Process
- Hosting Organization and Involvement Consultations with students looking to learn more about managing their organization, searching for ways to get involved, or looking to start a new org
- Maintenance of the Student Organization Resources Repository containing important documents for student organizations
- Answering involvement-related questions for students, employees, parents, and community members
Programming
PIAs host multiple semesterly programs to engage student organizations and leaders. Our programs include:

- Spring O'Rama
- Advisor programs
- Matching
- Roundtables
- Socials
- Homecoming festivities
- Outreach to organizations and advisors
- Weekly programs hosted in the Student Involvement suite
Training & Compliance
PIAs ensure student organizations and leaders are trained and equipped to handle organizational processes and issues. Our trainings include:
- Organizational leadership topics including constitution & bylaws, elections & transitions, and financial management
- Involvement opportunities at Missouri S&T
- Creating a New Student Organization
- How to Advise for employee advisors
- Hazing prevention
- Many others!
We also ensure organizational compliance with various requirements such as:
- Organization re-registration
- Food Safety Training
- Payment Card Industry (PCI) Training
Consultations
The PIAs host consultations with students and advisors regarding organizational management and involvement. We offer two types of consultations:
Organization Consultation
Organization consultations are designed for those already involved in an organization. Organization Consultations assist:
- Student leaders searching for information about managing their organization
- Organizations needing help with organization re-registration
- Advisors curious about information relating to organization processes or general advising
Involvement Consultation
Involvement Consultations are designed for those searching for or wanting to create involvement opportunities. Involvement Consultations assist:
- Students wanting to create a new student organization
- Students or prospective students searching for the best ways/opportunities to get involved
- Students searching for more information about available clubs
Trainings
