Student Government opens the door for all students to be community leaders

Student government at Missouri S&T provides students with a strong, collective voice in shaping campus life, policies, and priorities. Through multiple representative bodies, students engage directly with university leadership, advocate for their peers, and help allocate resources that enhance the overall student experience.

Student Council (STUCO) serves as the primary undergraduate representative body, advocating for student interests, addressing campus concerns, and collaborating with administrators to improve academic and co-curricular life. Associated Students of the University of Missouri (ASUM) represents Missouri S&T students at the UM System and state level, focusing on legislative advocacy and ensuring student perspectives are heard beyond campus. The Student Activity Finance Board (SAFB) oversees the allocation of student activity fees, funding Recognized Student Organizations and campus events to promote engagement and involvement. The Council of Graduate Students (CGS) represents graduate and professional students, advocating for their unique academic, research, and professional needs while fostering community among graduate scholars.

Together, these organizations ensure that Missouri S&T students play an active role in shared governance, leadership development, and the continuous improvement of the university community.
